At the new Dallas Convention Center Hotel, this unique backlit glass floor creates an innovative contextual entry into the sports bar. Designed to showcase newsprint graphics boasting proud moments in Dallas sports history, GPI’s Infuse™ LED Backlighting System renders the graphics with striking illumination.
In translating the design vision to reality, GPI sourced glass to specifically meet slip resistance while still maintaining visual clarity, performed testing and trials to identify the proper printing process, and crafted a custom backlighting system with diffusers and controls. Placing the flat LED panels above the structural elements and implementing three layers of light diffusion, custom section details were engineered to meet stringent load bearing criteria while eliminating all structural shadows and hot spots.
The result: edge-to-edge illumination in a load bearing floor application allows eye-catching graphics to stand uninterrupted.
