Masdar City PRT Station: Abu Dhabi, UAE | Backlit Glass Feature Walls

Date: In progress | Architect: Foster + Partners | Contractor: Tahuud General Contracting

Masdar City in Abu Dhabi, designed by Foster and Partners, is developing into the world’s first carbon neutral and zero-waste city. In its first phase, GPI showcased its outstanding leadership in sustainable feature wall design when commissioned to create, engineer, fabricate, and install nearly 3000 sf of backlit glass feature walls throughout the city's Personal Rapid Transit Station. To meet the ambitious environmental considerations demanded by the project, GPI supplied a moveable/reusable illuminated wall with 100% recycled glass panels backed with custom FLAT-Lite™ LED panels, providing energy-efficient light with an extended life span.

The result: bold design statement with sleek 100% post consumer waste glass surfaces that meets stringent sustainability requirements.  4'x8' FLAT-Lite™ LED panels are the largest panels of their kind.
